This is what is called a "quick bread" and should be baked in loaf pans or a cake pan. The "dough" is really a batter similar to cake batter. As for butter flavor, you should be able to find it in the grocery store next to vanilla and almond extract. I wouldn't try to substitute real butter, there is already a lot of oil in this bread. Poppy seed will be in the spices and seasonings isle of the grocery as well. It comes in small bottles and around here is usually expensive. :(
