"hodge-podge", I will remember that.

The vegetables that are used most in hodge-podge besides carrots are: endive (added raw), curly kale and sauerkraut (why do the English use the German word?)(DON'T boil sauerkraut in the same pan as the potatoes, because sauerkraut contains "something" that prevents the potatoes to become done). (sorry for that "crooked" sentence:)

But you can probably use most vegetables, I never tried any other, though. Just give it a try.
