My Mom still makes bread much as your Granny did. *And* homemade Strawberry Jam too. Bread days around here are still my favourites and the smell in the house can drive one nuts.

I just wish *I* could make bread like that. Whenever I've tried doing anything w/yeast, I always manage to kill it. Mom's even watched me and she has no idea what I do wrong.

Now Fruit type breads like Banana Bread, that I excel at, but a yeast based bread? Might as well send the end result to the weight room at our local Fitness Club.
