I was trying to come up with something different for dinner tonight. This is what I decided on. It's not really new, but I haven't made it in months and months. I have all the ingredients on hand except the ziti. Gonna substitute regular macaroni. It should work. This is a Mr. Food recipe that I've tweaked a bit for my family's tastes.
BAKED ZITI
1/2 lb. ziti
15 oz. ricotta cheese
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 jar (28 oz.) spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and stir in ricotta cheese and 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese. Brown ground beef in skillet and stir into spaghetti sauce. Spread 1/2 of spaghetti sauce mixture into the bottom of a 13x9x2 baking dish coated with non-stick cooking spray. Spoon in ziti and cheese mixture. Top with remaining spaghetti sauce mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan and remaining mozzarella. Bake at 350oF for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and hot through.
