I need an idea

I'm sitting here looking at six small boneless pork loin chops. Ordinarily I would brown them in a skillet then cover them with mushroom soup and simmer till tender and done. Today I'd like to try something different, but not too exotic.

Ideas anyone?

Thank you!!!

Dip them in beaten egg, then in bread crumbs (Italian seasoned ones, yum),bake for oh, 20 minutes at 400 or so? I used to fix this all the time

  • Before we got a pet pig.
  • Before my kids all turned vegetarian

Serve with applesauce, of course, and maybe some of the scalloped potatoes that come in a box? Not elegant, but tasty and cheap.

Marinade them for approx. half an hour in a mixture of soy sauce, honey and a little vinegar (or soy sauce, brown sugar and a little vinegar). Really good with rice or chinese noodles :)

Modify your mushroom soup recipe by adding 1 can mushrooms with juice, half up white wine, and half cup parmesan cheese. Then bake as usual until tender.

Sorry, thats half cup of white wine

You could use broth or just half cup of water to dilute the soup a little. Pity they don't make a non alcoholic cooking type wine just for the flavor effect.

Or you could go texmex. 1 medium jar of salsa (pick your heat factor mild medium or hot). 1 can of tomato soup. 1 small can of sliced black olives. Brown pork chops. Combine soup, salsa and olives and pour over chops. Bake about hour and a half. Nice and zesty.

Or you could braise them in a skillet, then deglaze the pan with about a half cup OJ and a splash of soy sauce, stir in some raisins, a little bit of onion and garlic, and then put the chops back in to simmer for a while. Serve with rice or noodles, and a salad.
