It's fun, though time-consuming, to make them from scratch.
In my Shire, Merry started spending the spring with Frodo after he moved to Bag End. When Pippin got old enough, he began to do that as well. When Pip was little, his visits were only two or three weeks long, gradually getting longer. But as Merry got older, his visits gradually got shorter, because he had things he had to do.
