My sister is visiting, so we tried one of my grandmother's recipes.
Take bread dough/roll dough -- any simple kind will do -- we used frozen stuff from the grocery.
Divide into balls -- about pingpong ball size will do -- and let rise.
Flatten the balls and place into the center of each dough disk one marshmallow, dipped in butter and then rolled in a cinnamon and brown sugar mix. Pull up the edges and pinch together, so that the marshamallow is completely surrounded by dough. The pinch is the bottom of the roll.
Dip the top of the roll into the butter and cinnamonsugar and crushed walnuts if you like them, and then place into your muffin tin.
Allow to rise again.
Bake according to the way you usually bake rolls.
When you pull out the rolls, you can poke them open and you'll find a hole in the middle, perfect for butter, and you've now got a deliciously sweet cinnamon roll for your supper. Best hot, of course!
