My husband, the weirdo with the 29-inch waist and the bloomin' six-pack, is on this no-meat cabbage soup diet, and we're all on it with him. My ears are starting to feel furry, and my front teeth seem to be getting in the way. *darn*
Are there any herbs that go well with cabbage? Just for a change of pace? *sobs* We've got four more days of cabbage soup to go!
I've lost 3 lbs though. I think it's working. :)

Date: 2004-07-26 10:44 am (UTC)You might add some sour salt (can buy it in Jewish food section of market..Rokeach puts it out). Add it to taste (a 1/4 tsp at a time because it's sour...is citric acid.) You could add lemon juice, now that I think of it 'cuz lemon juice is citric acid. Then add some brown or white sugar (about a Tbsp. sugar will do for the whole pot) so there's not many calories.
Oh, and..
I make stuffed cabbage...stuff the cabbage with gr. meat and rice....put large can whole tomatoes chopped in pot, flavor with the sour salt and sugar (you can add raisons, too)..and cook long and low..about 2 hours. I serve with couscous....
Oh, I could go on and on...
